If so, will this be sufficient for the regulator to adapt its strategy?
We have no evidence that IPTV has an additional appeal to the people who do not subscribe to cable or DTH. However, a number of recent changes have hindered IPTV expansion – and it is these developments that have led to reduced growth expectations for IPTV.
Meanwhile, the UK adopted a lenient regulatory approach and a forward-thinking collaboration with the industry.

In the United Kingdom, BT is the leading company in the UK IPTV market with a share of 1.18%, and YouView has a 2.8% stake, which is the landscape of single and two-service bundles. Content collaborations highlight the varied regulatory frameworks for media markets in the US and UK. The era of condensed content timelines and the shifts in the sector has major consequences, the most direct being the commercial position of the UK’s dominant service provider.
Although a late entrant to the crowded and competitive UK TV sector, Setanta is placed to attract a large customer base through appearing cutting-edge and having the turn of the globe’s highest-profile rights. The power of branding is a significant advantage, combined with a product that has a competitive price point and offers die-hard UK football supporters with an enticing extra service.
5.Technological Advancements and Future Trends
5G networks, in conjunction with millions of IoT devices, have stirred IPTV evolution with the implementation of AI and machine learning. Cloud computing is strongly supporting AI systems to unlock novel functionalities. Proprietary AI recommendation systems are being widely adopted by media platforms to engage viewers with their own advantages. The video industry has been transformed with a modernized approach.
A larger video bitrate, either through resolution or frame rate advancements, has been a main objective in boosting audience satisfaction and expanding subscriber bases. The advancements in recent years stemmed from new standards developed by industry stakeholders.

The digital security benchmark is at its weakest point. Technological progress have made system hacking more remote than physical intervention, thereby advantaging digital fraudsters at a larger scale than traditional thieves.
With the advent of headend services, demand for IPTV has been on the rise. Depending on user demands, these developments in technology are going to change the face of IPTV.
